With the New Year just hours away, the grace period for green residential parking permits expires at midnight tonight. Starting January 1, 2026, the new red stickers will be the only valid proof of residency for street parking.

The new permits are required for any motorist parking on streets designated as “Parking for Residents Only” beyond authorized time limits. While Secaucus began issuing the new red stickers earlier this year, the grace period for the previous green permits is set to expire as the calendar turns.

The Town of Secaucus has moved the renewal process entirely online at https://www.sdlportal.com/towns/nj/hudson/secaucus/requests/parkingpermit. There is no fee to apply or renew, and once processed, the new stickers are mailed directly to the resident’s home.

The Secaucus Scoop wishes all residents a safe, healthy, and happy New Year! We look forward to seeing those new red stickers all over town in 2026.
